Having lived in Norfolk for the past 49 years I developed a passion for history at an early age, beach combing for fossils and field walking for pottery at the age of 10.

This then led to my first metal detector at the age of 11, I can't remember finding much apart from spent WWII ammunition but it was fun!

A few years passed and by the age of 15 I became involved in Archaeological excavations, spending the next few summers around Norwich (my home city) digging trenches and building up my knowledge.

For the past 20 years I have become far more involved with metal detecting, working closely with landowners to uncover the history of their farms and have been lucky enough to find more hoards than anyone else in Norfolk, some of these and other important finds I have made are now on display at Norwich Castle Museum

My passion for history also led me to study for a degree in archaeology at the University of East Anglia and also as a volunteer under the guidance of DR Adrian Marsden identifying and recording coins for the Portable Antiquities Scheme (PAS)

During the past six years I have worked closely with Archaeological companies detecting new build sites and recording finds with the local councils.
